Dry Dhoop Cones

Dry dhoop cones are a form of incense, traditionally used in Indian spiritual practices, that are made from a dry, compacted paste of natural ingredients. Unlike agarbattis (incense sticks), they do not have a bamboo core, allowing for a purer, more concentrated fragrance when burned.
Composition and characteristics
Charcoal-free: Many modern dry dhoop cones are made without charcoal, which produces less smoke and a cleaner burn than traditional incense.
Primary ingredients: They typically consist of a blend of natural aromatic materials.
Resins: Frankincense (loban) and guggul are commonly used.
Herbs and woods: Sandalwood powder and other fragrant herbs create the base aroma.
Binding agents: Natural binders, such as honey, ghee (clarified butter), or gum arabic, hold the cone's shape.
Essential oils: Added for a variety of fragrances, such as rose, lavender, and jasmine.
Aroma and burn: Dry dhoop cones produce a rich, earthy, and intense aroma that lingers for a longer time compared to agarbattis.
